Foods help you to fight Arthritis

Inflammation is the root cause of joint pain and to get some relief, one must eat  foods can help in fight inflammation. There is no special diet that can cure arthritis, consuming balance diet paired with lifestyle changes such as increased physical activity and exercise can have a powerful influence on improving arthritis related symptoms. Adding foods suggested here to the balanced diet may help ease pain and arthritis symptoms

1.Whole grains and pulses 

Research suggests that whole grains and pulses may help in lower an indicator of inflammation in the body called C reactive protein.  Wholes Pulses  are loaded with fibre and phytonutrients which helps in lowering CRP.

2.Seeds, Nuts and Fish

Seeds and nuts are packed with healthy omega 3 fatty acids known to fight inflammation and help reduce it in your connective tissue and joints. It is recommended to include almonds, walnuts flax seeds and chia seeds.  If you are non vegetarian, include Omega 3 fatty fishes like  salmon, tuna, mackerel should be included at least 3 times in a week.   

3.Green Leafy Vegetables , Amla and Oranges

Fruits and Vegetables are packed with antioxidants, vitamins and fibre which helps to fight inflammation. Citrus fruits like oranges, lemon, grapefruits are rich in vitamin C. Amla is a power pack of Vitamin C should be included everyday aids in preventing inflammatory arthritis and maintaining healthy joints with osteoarthritis.

4.Turmeric 

Turmeric is a medicinal herb which contains Curcumin, an anti-inflammatory compound that can reduce joint aches and swelling by blocking inflammatory cytokines and enzymes.

5.Dark Chocalate

Antioxidants which are plentiful in dark chocolate have significant anti-inflammatory effects. Flavonoids aid in reducing inflammation and maintain the health of the artery lining cells  

 6.Ginger

 Ginger has shown anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects which can help in managing joint pains for arthritis patients.

7.Green Tea

Green tea is a particularly good source of epigallocatechin 3-gallate (EGCG). This is a type of polyphenol with particularly potent antioxidant effects.

Foods to be avoided for Arthritis

To reduce levels of inflammation, avoid fried foods, excess sugars, excess salt,   sodas, refined carbohydrates, high fat dairy, red meat  and processed foods. Avoiding these foods can have noticeable effects on your symptoms of arthritis.
